President's Message - Milad-un-Nabi 1438 AH

Assalaamu Alaikum,

Heartiest facilitations and best wishes on the occasion of the birthday of our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). May this day bring joy to your families and scrumptious sweets to your stomachs.

unnamedProphet Muhammad (pbuh) was a model human being who demonstrated faith in action, and taught the perfect way of life. We are proud to be amongst his Ummah and strive to follow his example. In an era of anti-Muslim rhetoric, Islamaphobia and sharp increase in hate crimes against Muslims in North America, faith in action is an effective and proactive way to combat the negative sentiments.

Many of you have shown exemplary work in your communities to engage with fellow citizens and I congratulate you and pray that you may continue to be successful in your efforts to unite our brothers and sisters in faith and humanity. Our Prophet (pbuh) was sent as a Mercy for all mankind. Let us show this by way of our behaviour towards the wider North American community.

Whilst it is important to take the time to write letters and educate our politicians, of equal importance is to "behave the way our beloved Prophet would" in our day to day dealings with fellow North American citizens.

A week after we celebrate the birth of our Prophet (pbuh), most of our neighbours will be celebrating the birth of Jesus (pbuh). This presents us with an excellent opportunity to reach out to our non-Muslim co-workers and neighbours and wish them as our way to bring joy to their families.

Along with the birth of our Holy Prophet (phuh), we are also be celebrating the birth of Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq (pbuh). On behalf of NASIMCO, I would like to wish you and your families a Khushali Mubarak on both these occasions. May Allah (swt) bestow the very best on you and your families and may He answer all your prayers. Amen.

With duas,

Mohamed A. Dewji
President, NASIMCO
