Marhum Shabbir Akber Dewji

It is with sadness that we share the news of the demise of Marhum Shabbir Akber Dewji who passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and was buried there on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

Marhum was the son of Late Br. Akberali Mohammedhussein Dewji, Late Fatmabai Akber Dewji, and Sr. Fatim Akber Dewji.

Marhum was the husband of Sr. Zainab Shabbir Dewji.

Marhum was father of Late Br. Aliasgher Dewji, Br. Hussein Versi, Br. Salman Dewji, Sr. Aliya Dewji Versi, and Sr. Rida Dewji Moti.

Marhum was the brother of Late Br. Murtaza Dewji, Late Br. Sajjad Dewji, Late Br. Mohammed Dewji, Br. Abbas Dewji (UK), Br. Hasnain Dewji (UK), Sr. Mansura Khimji (US), Sr. Shehnaz Rajwani (US), Sr. Rehana Asharia, Sr. Sabira Janmohammed (UK), Sr. Zainab Hasnain (UK), and Sr. Sakina Khaki (UK).

Marhum was the father in law of Br. Mohammed Baqir Versi, Br. Zeeshan Moti, Sr. Arzina Versi Dewji, Sr. Sayyeda Pardhan Dewji, Sr. Sameera Jabir Dewji

Marhum was the grandfather of Br. Yasir Dewji, Br. Ammaar Versi, Br. Jawad Dewji, Br. Adil Dewji, Br. Alihassan Versi, Br. Alimahdi Dewji, Br. Zayden Moti, Sr. Aasiyah Dewji, Sr. Kanize Zainab Dewji, Sr. Ummul Baneen, and Sr. Umme Abeeha.

May Almighty Allah (swt) rest the Marhum’s departed soul in eternal peace in Jannah and give the family the fortitude to bear this monumental loss – Ameen.

Surah Al-Fatiha is requested for Marhum Shabbir Akber Dewji and all other Marhumeen.
